What is the easiest way to texture and paint walls?

hire a pro, or at least a day laborer who knows how to texture walls. Lots of options, I think easiest is the skip trowell though it may look dated. Spray texture with a hopper requires equipment and lots of prep so you don't make a mess. Old world or smooth texture are not for beginners.

Paint- get a good brand paint, not Home Depot Behr, with a natural merino wool roller cover and a good brush for cutting (Purdy makes good brushes but get them at Sherwin-Williams, the good brushes get sent to this store). Don't forget to prime, usually with a PVA primer for new drywall or make a mess but have more success with oil based primer. What is the easiest way to texture and paint walls?
Sponges work great :)
