Painting issue with Sharpie on walls?

Ok so an onery kid drew on walls with Sharpie black marker. The thin type. I am trying to paint over it with a flat white paint, but after a few coats you still see marker under it. It looks like crap, HELP! I am thinking it needed a primer of some sort? This is coming from someone who had to ask the Walmart worker how you open the paint cans....I know nothing about painting. Go to home depot, and go to the paint section, and purchase a spray can called ''Killz''. Just make sure you buy the oil primer product. That will cover that right up, and stop the bleeding through the paint. Have funPainting issue with Sharpie on walls?
lol i have a two year old that likes to do that Mr. Clean magic eraser!!!!!! It works like a charm! now that you painted over it i don't know get some paint thinner it will come off then!
Try a product called Kilz. It will block out just about any stain. Then paint over it with your flat paint.
contact your local paint store - they will be able to give you the name of some products, primers, that will work for you. And hide those Sharpies!
