What is the best way to remove crayon and pen marks from flat matte painted walls?

ooooh... flat paint is kind of unforgiving. I would try the magic eraser everyone else suggested first, but I am not positive it will take it off of FLAT paint... I know with crayons, if all else fails, you can heat it up and melt it off, but with ink... I am not sure. I would try a scrub brush and water and soap first and if that didnt work, go to the dollar store and get some ';mean green'; it takes just about everything off. Good luck. What is the best way to remove crayon and pen marks from flat matte painted walls?

Magic easer
eucalyptus oil works wonders for anything oily- even sticky tape!

orange oil the same-

you can buy ';magic erasers'; from the cleaning aisle in the supermarket as well....
MrClean Magic Eraser.

Haha I always made the ';culprit'; do the scrubbing, my kids thought twice before coloring on the walls a second time...
oh, i love that Mr. Eraser. It does great with crayon on flat, non-textured walls.
Magic Erasers are Very good! Just make sure to keep them away from kids, because the cleaning fluids can cause serious injury if the kids try to erase stuff from themselves. I've seen pictures, so please use your judgement when you use these things..

These magic erasers come in the generic brands along with Mr. Clean and ?Clorox? and a couple of other brands. They are very reasonably priced.

The things even remove Permanent Markers. But if you use them on wood, beware they will also remove the finish. We found that out the hard way. But you always change the finish on your wood furniture, so unless some of your things are antique or very expensive, it won't really matter if you use them on the wood.
