Removing latex wall paint from a rug?

Well...last night we had a bit of an accident....we had a can of light blue paint (latex) on a step stool...my husband did not see it, knocked it over, and lets just say BIG MESS!!

We cleaned most of it up, and now there is still just a very light blue stain on our beige colored rug. We used soap, water and Oxy Clean and used a Wet/Dry Vac but it's still a bit damp and still a bit blue, although it is 500% better than it was.

Other than just letting the rug dry now and using an area rug to cover it, what else can we do to get the rug even cleaner?

(the rug will be replaced in 4-5 years anyway when we sell our condo....we have about 1000sq ft of space in the whole place and it will just be easier to replace the throughout then).Removing latex wall paint from a rug?
they have stuff at the hardware store called goof off it takes paint off.say you painted a room and got paint all on the floor and it dried this stuff you put a little on a rag and it takes the paint right off the floor i don't see why it won't work on a rug.you can try it.Removing latex wall paint from a rug?
Use denatured alcohol..goof off and oops and krud kutter all have this in it..but they also have other additives that can take the dye out of the rug..I am a 37 year experienced painter and we use denatured alcohol on new carpets when one of my painters make a lil mistake..it will not take the dye out of the carpet...here is a picture of what it looks like and wal mart, home depot and any hardware store have it..

Look under ';uses'; on this link..it tells you for upholstery and clothes as well..it will take it out of any material without harming it

Red Devil Paint Company sells the only product I have ever seen that takes Latex Paint completely out of materials. It is called ,';Save a Brush'; and takes oil or water based paints out of brushed that have dried with it on. It is also used to clean painters clothing, but I am sure it would do the same in getting paint out of your rug. Sometimes you can find it in the paint departments, but it is very hard to come by. You can however, get it directly from Red Devil Paints.com , attention Julie. It is $10 a box,but will last forever. I have managed a paint department for gob's of years, and that is truly one product that does what it claims to. To bad it is so hard to find. When ever I do ,I feel like I have struck GOLD!
It depends on how big..a spot...I usually just ';get as much up as I can';, then if after it dries..then I take and ';cut out the parts/of carpet that the ';paint droppings are on';..and just do it delicately, and evenly...make sure the carpet around it..is even w / your ';trimmin';..you tc/ God Bless you;)Im soooo happy for you...I do have some bad news to tell you about me..but Im k w/ it..Its just gonna take me some time..;)
