How do you paint walls along stairs?

Put painter's masking tape on the parts you don't want to paint and only paint one half then let it dry before you paint the other side. How do you paint walls along stairs?
I assume carpet is in place. Painters tape and paper cover the stairs.then take a piece of thin flat material to press down on the carpet to allow you to paint below the top of the carpet. Simple huh?How do you paint walls along stairs?
heh hvc and tok h can you read?? the question was how do they paint the WALLS. Is it a high stairwell with a landing half way up or just one flight?? Go to your local paint store, diy, ace hardware and get one of the poles that extend for painting tall places most them have a screw on the end of it that will screw into the end of a paint roller and have adptors to hold a brushes use a ladder were you can and be safe.........good luck painting the WALLS................
i have used an a frame ladder turned it to face the steps then ran a wide board to the ladder that gave me a plank 2 work with used a expandable paint pole but still needed long ladder to trim the top used roller for the rest 22 foot cealings
easy paint the stairs too then after it is dry scrap off the paint on stairs buff stairs(if wooden) then put that shiny stuff for wood on em
