Help me choose a kitchen wall paint color!?

My cabinets are a light/natural maple color, the floors are oak with a honey finish, stainless steel appliances, and black/gray counter tops.

I HATE the current color (it's an orangey goldy tan color). I couldn't even find a paint chip that matched it to find out what color it was.

The great room that connects to the kitchen is a sage/forest green.

you could do like a dark red, or some warm browns.

I always use this site for paint ideasHelp me choose a kitchen wall paint color!?
the sage color is a very nice color...a mauve color might work for that room...or something like...a pastel color with a light blue...but keep in mind since it is a kitchen you would want something that is washable...for that i would go with the Behr's Kitchen and Bath Sateen finesh..it looks just like satin and it is very washable...and Mold and Mildew resistent since i'm assumeing that you boil water when cooking in the kitchen...but for other color ideas i would go to Behr.com and use their program that allows you to play around with colors to see what would fit for you....you can even up load a pic of your own room and really see what the colors look like..since it also depends on what your personal taste is...

i hope this helps...good luck!
As kitchens have most of the wall covered by cabinets and cupboards and tiling with very little actual wall showing, paint the walls white which is easy to redo when they become stained by the cooking and food preparation, etc. Plus, you don't have to keep sodding about with colour co-ordinating.
A wine red it great in kitchens it highlights the cabinets and stainless steel. It also looks good with green. There are so many colors to choose from. Grab a couple of paint chips from your local hardware store.
Something that fits with the great room color. Maybe a gray-green color, a little more gray than sage. Then if you want to accessorize your can use a more vibrant green, or black.
