1 Generally people don't appreciate work that is too cheap. 2 If your good, you can charge whatever someone will pay. 3. Sometimes the best jobs are the ones you DON'T get, don't look back. 4 If you don't particularly want or need the job, go in high, if you get it, consider it a bonus. 5 Size up the people, the neighborhood and the ability to pay, your judgement will come with experience. 6 NEVER make promises you can't keep, your reputation is your best advertisement. 7 ALWAYS cover your expenses with the first payment, sometimes the deadbeats are hard to spot. 8 Your price is your price, bargaining is down at the flea market...Good Luck! How much can i charge per sq ft to paint walls in a house?im in miami fl?
I would suggest calling up some of the local companies in the area and ask for an estimate. I would choose a price that is lower then the lowest estimate you receive while you build your clientele. Once you are well established and have some great testimonials you will be able to charge more.
I'm not a painter yet i do have a suggestion for you. Try www.servicemagic.com and use their estimator. It will mostly depend on how much prep work and how many coats etc. BTW I use them on the contractor side and so far they have been great. A little sluggish in response times occasionally but the lead have been solid so far. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about them. bgkntry34 here.
