You can try everything else first, but I've found that washing the wall with tri-sodium phosphate and then repainting is the only thing that really works.

Easiest way is get an old towel place it on the floor at the bottom of the wall . Boil the kettle and pour the boiling water on the wax. It will melt off and land with the water at the bottom of the towel. No rubbing no scrubbing just pour on the water!
What you do is get some brown wrapping paper, place it on the stain and put a fairly hot iron on it.
You might try a steam cleaner such as the Shark steam cleaner. I used mine once to remove wax off of the wall. You should switch to Scentsy, no flame or yucky soot!
Try warm soapy water.
a brown paper bag works, too. use the iron.
