If you are going for a budget screen then plain flat matte paint is an option. Don't use glossy paint or you'll get a nasty screen glare in your eye. I'm making my new theater now with screen-goo but my first screen was a huge sheet of painter's canvas with white matte behr paint from home depot (My fathers an artist)
