Painting walls in kitchen?

I have burma teak hardwood floors which look red when light shines on it. I would like to paint my walls a color that would counteract the red in the wood. I don't want the wood to look red but the brown that it should be. ThanksPainting walls in kitchen?

Since you want to ';counteract'; it and not compliment it, I would stick to cool colors. If your cabinets are relatively light-colored, you can use a deeper cool color, like sage or teal. If cabinets are darker, keep the paint color light, like seafoam green.

Whatever you decide, you shouldn't make a choice until you look at LOTS of samples in the kitchen - near both the floor and the cabinets. Then pick the one you like to most. Good luck with your selection.
