Choose different colors to see what appeals to you.

Deep red/burgundy and gold are perfect together and with burgundy's brown undertones it coordinates with your furniture.

Very cool combination is golds with eggplant color. Not light purple, but deeper, rich eggplant. Could look very sophisticated. Another nice color is chocolate brown. Add a stenciled accent in your golds to that wall and now you're really making a statement!

depending on how much light is coming into the room i think a rich coffee or cream would look great as it would blend in with the gold but also the black and brown furniture, if you go too dark it will close up the room.
you should go to behr.com. you can upload a picture of your room and then try out different colors on the walls. thats what i have been doing and its really helpful!
For harmony I would go with exactly two shades darker than the rest of the walls. However I don't know what other colors are going on in the room-ie curtains, pillows, rugs.
maybe a beige or egg shell color

trust me, they look very rich and elegant on the walls :)
